It’s easy to get overwhelmed with choice when it comes to where to eat, what to do, what to drink and where to stay when travelling, especially in Kuching. There are almost 20 café in the centre itself and there is a lot of decent selection of places to relax with a caffeine hit. Here are our favourites café (so far).

No worries, we will make sure the list will go on and on. But as for now, we will stick to 5 Café That You Need To Try While In Kuching.

#1. Commons

Located at the Old Court House, Commons offers a great place for food and coffee in the heart of the city. You can see a lot of teenagers try to get their insta-moment here and there since the interior and the set-up are quite lavish and so ‘atas’.

What we like about Commons is their variety of food selection, as well as the cakes.

Operation hours: 11 am – 10 pm Daily

#2. Earthlings Coffee Workshop

They have quite a variety of coffee selection, but for the food, there are not so many options.

What we personally like is, their explanation and services on the type of coffee; the coffee classes and you can buy your coffee dripper, beans or any coffee-making stuff here!

We like the ambience a lot; inside and outside as well.

Operation hours: 9 am – 12 am Daily

#3. Indah Café

Located at the Upper China St, you can easily miss this café because it sits quietly in a street that joined with Carpenter Street.

Established as a café and art gallery, they offer heavy and vegetarian meals as well as modern and traditional food like the Chicken Pansuh.

They do offer traditional dishes cooking class as well.

Operation hours: 8 am – 6.30 pm Daily

#4. Feast & Furious

Like the name suggest, if you are a motorcycle or car enthusiast, you will fell in love with this themed café!

Located at the corner of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, you can’t miss this café since they painted a huge mural of the GOAT of the racing scenes such as Rossi, Schumacher and others.

For the interior, its feel like you are dining in a museum of motorcycle and car collections! Don’t get us wrong, it’s in a good way and we like the concept a lot!

The food is scrumptious, and wide selections too. From western to local dishes.

Operation hours: 4 pm – 2 am Daily

#5. The Coffee Code

The Coffee Code does not really serve main dishes but focuses more on the food items serves during tea break such as pancakes, waffles, toasts and coffee, of course.

The interior of The Coffee Code is cosy and suitable for gathering or enjoying a cup of coffee and for ‘the Gram’ as well!

I was recommended to try their toast, and it was remarkable! I can eat it the whole day (and need to jog afterwards). Hehe.
